I recently started taking photos of stars and I am addicted to the possibilities. It reminds me of the days I was processing my own black and white prints in my dark room (sounds like light years ago!).

Basically you have to keep your camera’s lens open for about 30 seconds to capture the stars but to make it more interesting if you have some foreground elements and it is dark (no moon or street lights), you have to “paint the foreground” (trees, building, people etc) with a torch.
